A major white goods recycler in the Netherlands will switch from scrapping cast iron contra weights from old washing machines to direct reuse of these components in the manufacturing of new devices. Just one example of the growing trend towards electronics recyclers engaging in new business activities. ‘We have to, in order to survive,’ it was stressed by industry leaders at the latest International Electronics Recycling Congress.
